FAQ

Questions people usually ask.

These answers are written for business owners and managers, not for people who already know the technical side. They focus on cost, control and compliance.

Do you replace our internal IT team?

No. We can work alongside an internal team, or we can act as the outside partner that helps guide decisions and keep things tidy.

Do you only work in Sussex?

No. The business is based in West Sussex, but the service is remote-friendly and can work with UK businesses more widely.

Will you take every support call?

No. The service is designed around control and clarity, not around being a cheap first-line helpdesk.

Why keep it so simple?

Because decision makers usually want to know what is happening, what it costs, and what will change. They do not need a pile of technical detail to make a sensible decision.

Is Microsoft 365 secure from day one?

No. Microsoft 365 gives you strong security tools, but the right settings still need to be reviewed and configured for your business. Access, devices, sharing, mobile apps and audit evidence should not be left to chance.

What is different from a normal MSP?

TIDE is focused on clarity, control and evidence. We help the business understand what it owns, what it pays for, where the risks are, and what needs fixing first.

Can this help us with GDPR or Cyber Essentials?

Yes. The aim is to make the environment easier to line up with UK GDPR, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, while also removing waste that does not help the business.

Will this save money?

Usually, yes. The main savings come from unused licences, duplicate tools, manual setup work, old accounts, unclear device ownership and support arrangements that no longer fit.

Where do IT savings normally come from?

From making the boring things visible: what you already pay for, what is not being used, what is being done by hand, and which risks are likely to cost money later.

Why is Microsoft 365 still hard to manage?

Because the useful information is spread across different screens and exports. Intune, MAM, device details, ownership records and audit evidence do not arrive in one neat package, so teams often have to join it up manually.
